Account and data deletion

Delete your account

You can delete your Apostolic Devotions account, and everything stored with it, at any time. It takes effect immediately.

Delete it in the app

  1. Open Apostolic Devotions and tap your picture or initial to open Me.
  2. Open Settings, then scroll to Account.
  3. Tap Delete account.
  4. Confirm with Apple or Google when asked. Your account is deleted right away.

If you would like a copy of your journal, notes and prayers first, tap Export my data in the same place before you delete.

Or ask us by email

If you no longer have the app, email support@apostolicdevotions.app from the email address of the Apple or Google account you signed in with (or tell us your Apple private relay address), with the subject "Delete my account". We will confirm the request and delete the account within 30 days, usually much sooner.

What is deleted

Everything connected to your account is permanently deleted from our database:

  • your profile: account identifier, name, email address and display name;
  • your synced journal entries, notes, highlights, bookmarks and personal prayer list;
  • your reading progress, streaks, plan progress and settings;
  • your prayer wall posts, the prayers you marked, and reports you made;
  • your sign-in sessions on every device.

We also ask Apple to revoke the app's access to your Apple ID. Anything still stored on your phone stays there until you delete the app.

What is kept, and for how long

  • A security log entry recording that an account was deleted, with an internal number but no name, email or content, kept for 180 days.
  • Short-term database backups held by our hosting provider, from which deleted data drops out within 30 days.

Deletion cannot be undone. If you sign in again later, you will start with a new, empty account.
